What is segmentation and what are the 3 ways to segment the network?
Segmentation is the practice of dividing up your network into different segments to increase bandwidth as much as possible and to help improve network security/performance. The 3 ways to do this are by Physical, Logical and Virtual.
What does ACL stand for and what does this do?
ACL stands for Access Control List. This is a way to either allow or disallow traffic on your network and can be done by various ways such as source IP, categories, port number, applications, etc.
What does EDR stand for and what does this do?
EDR stands for Endpoint Detection and Response. This offers real-time monitoring of devices, advanced threat detection and automated response capabilities.
What does HIPS stand for and what does this do?
HIPS stands for Host-based Intrusion Prevention System. This is a security software designed to monitor and protect individual host machines within a network from various cyber threats. It works by analyzing events occurring on a single host to detect suspicious activities and taking action to prevent unauthorized access and potential threats.
