Deltoid (anterior, posterior, medial)
The deltoid muscle is divided into three parts - anterior, posterior, and medial - responsible for various movements of the shoulder.
Erector spinae (3)
The erector spinae is a group of three muscles along the spine that help maintain posture and support the back.
Infraspinatus
The infraspinatus muscle is located on the back of the shoulder and aids in external rotation of the arm.
Latissimus Dorsi
The latissimus dorsi is a large muscle in the back responsible for shoulder extension and adduction.
Levator Scapulae
The levator scapulae muscle elevates the scapula (shoulder blade) and helps in neck movement.
Rhomboids
The rhomboids are muscles between the shoulder blades that retract the scapulae.
Supraspinatus
The supraspinatus muscle is located on top of the shoulder and assists in shoulder abduction.
Teres major (not part of rotator cuff)
The teres major muscle is located in the upper back and helps in arm adduction and internal rotation.
Teres minor
The teres minor muscle is one of the rotator cuff muscles that aids in shoulder external rotation.
Subscapularis
The subscapularis muscle is a rotator cuff muscle responsible for internal rotation of the shoulder.
