Theory of Mind (ToM)
The ability to infer the full range of mental states (beliefs, desires, intentions, etc.) that causes action.
Parental Dimensions
Aspects of parenting that include involvement, acceptance, control, and autonomy granting.
Authoritative Parenting
A parenting style characterized by high responsiveness and high demandingness, resulting in better outcomes for children.
Authoritarian Parenting
A parenting style that is low in warmth and high in control, often leading to anxiety and social problems in children.
Permissive Parenting
A parenting style that is warm but indulgent, allowing few demands and boundaries for children.
Uninvolved Parenting
A neglectful parenting style with low involvement and low control, leading to risky behaviors in children.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
The process through which children acquire skills to manage emotions, establish positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Peer Sociability
The development and engagement of social interactions with peers, which begins early in childhood.
Faux Pas Understanding
The ability to recognize unintentional insults or mistakes made in social contexts, important for peer acceptance.
