What is chi-squared goodness of fit?
tests whether an observed frequency distribution of one nominal variable matches an expected distribution
When performing a chi-squared goodness-of-fit test, do all the expected frequencies need to be the same?
Default assumption is to assume the expected frequencies are the same, but you can change these and have different expected frequencies
What is chi-squared test of independence?
tests whether an observed frequency direction of two nominal variables have the same distribution
When do you need to apply a continuity correction to a chi-squared test of independence?
When the degrees of freedom are equal to 1
