protesting police brutality, 8 people died this was a setback for the movement as the government denied union recognitions it was a symbol for workers right
homestead strike
the workers were striking because their wages were cut seven workers got killed the state militia had to regain control of the area this caused Carneigie steel to have longer hours and lower wages
pullman strike
the wages were cut and longer hours were caused, Pullman refused to listen, 30 people died and 80 million dollars worth of damages, Cleveland sent federal troops in Chicago to enforce the ruling to stop the strike.
