Simple Columnar Epithelium
Epithelium found in the gall bladder, characterized by no villi, crypts, or submucosa, and lacking goblet cells.
Simple Squamous Epithelium
Epithelium found in the omentum, featuring loose connective tissue and fibroblasts with large nuclei and tapered cytoplasm.
Stereocilia
Specialized microvilli found in the epididymis, much larger than typical villi and may show distal branching.
Brush Border
Epithelium found in the small intestine, characterized by columnar cells, microvilli, and crypts.
Round Nuclei
Clusters of cell bodies with large lemon-shaped areas and multiple round nuclei found in the spinal ganglion.
Mesenchyme
Tissue found typically in bone, characterized by fusiform nuclei and spindle-shaped smooth muscle cells.
Glycogen
Polysaccharide found in the liver, staining red/pink with PAS reaction, seen alongside portal veins and hepatic arteries.
Lipids
Substance found in the hypodermis, staining orange/brown with Sudan III.
AP / Gomori Method
Method related to kidney histology.
Simple Squamous Epithelium
Epithelium found in the parietal sheath of the kidney, featuring glomeruli surrounded by Bowman's space and capsule.
Simple Columnar Epithelium
Epithelium found in the fundus of the stomach, characterized by larger crypts and distinct tissue layers.
Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium
Epithelium found in the trachea, featuring columnar cells, cilia, and mucus-containing cells.
Transitional Epithelium
Epithelium found in the ureter, characterized by three layers and crypts larger than those in the bladder.
Transitional Epithelium
Epithelium found in the urinary bladder, characterized by three layers including squamous, columnar, and umbrella cells.
Stratified Squamous Nonkeratinized Epithelium
Epithelium found in the oesophagus, stratified squamous and non-keratinized.
Stratified Squamous Keratinized Epithelium
Epithelium found in the skin, stratified squamous with strands of uninucleate cells on top.
Compound Tubuloacinar Gland
Gland surrounded by acini and serous cells that secrete alpha amylase in parotid gland.
Compound Tubuloacinar Gland
Gland featuring mucosal cells predominately found around submandibular gland.
Compound Tubuloacinar Gland
Gland featuring predominantly mucosal cells around sublingual gland.
Dense Regular Connective Tissue
Connective tissue with strands in one direction found in the tendon.
Loose Connective Tissue
Connective tissue with irregular, multidirectional arrangement found in the hypodermis.
White Adipose Loose Connective Tissue
Connective tissue where large white adipocytes appear hollow.
Brown Adipose Loose Connective Tissue
Connective tissue where adipocytes are smaller and contain mitochondria.
Elastic Cartilage
Type of cartilage found in the auricle.
Fibrocartilage
Type of cartilage found in intervertebral discs.
Schmorll Method
A method used for identifying bone tissue.
Romanovsry-Giemsa
A stain used on blood to identify different components.
