What is wellbeing?
Wellbeing is the condition of an individual or group in all aspects of life. Influenced by how well our needs are met and how we achieve goals.
What are the 6 aspects of wellbeing?
Social, emotional, cultural, physical, spiritual, economic
What are needs and wants?
Needs: Essential things for survival (e.g food, shelter, water) Wants: Things we would like to have but aren’t necessary (phone, car, holidays)
What was the specific needs?
Safety & Security, Health, Education, sense of identiy, employment, adequate standard of living
What are the types of resources?
Human: Non-tangible items such as skills, knowledge,time, energy Non-Human: Tangible items such as money, equipment, shelter, technology
Charactersistics of resources
Interchangeable: Can be used in different ways Manageable: Can be controlled and directed to meet needs
What is goal setting?
Goals are targets we aim for to meet needs and improve wellbeing
What are the types of goals?
Short term: Achieved soon and quickly Medium term: May take a few months. Long term: Takes years
Goal setting proccess
Set Smart goals, identify resources needed, prioritise and plan, act and evaluate
