Romberg Test
A balance test that evaluates a patient's proprioception and vestibular function.
Pronator Drift Test
A test that assesses muscle strength and proprioception by monitoring arm movements.
Ataxia
Inability to generate coordinated voluntary movements.
Dysmetria
Inability to perform accurate movements, often overshooting or undershooting a target.
Hypotonia
Decreased muscle tone, common in lower motor neuron disorders.
Hypertonia
Increased muscle tone, common in central nervous system disorders.
Myotomes
Muscle groups that correspond to specific spinal nerve roots.
Deep Tendon Reflexes (DTRs)
Reflexes that involve a sensory nerve, spinal cord synapse, motor nerve, and muscle fibers.
Gait Evaluation
Analysis of a patient’s walking pattern to identify abnormalities or balance issues.
Proprioception
The body's ability to sense its position, motion, and equilibrium.
Mental Status Evaluation
Assessment of a patient's cognitive functions including orientation, attention, and memory.
