Clipper, Blades & Attachments
Electric clippers utilize detachable blades or plastic guard attachments to cut hair in uniformed fashion
Define the number system of clipper blades and attachments
Generally, the smaller the number the shorter the cut. Some systems may also include specific blade sizes for fading or blending techniques. The length of hair left varies by clipper manufacturer: Andis, Oster, Wahl etc.
What is the importance of consultation
to understand your client and working with the same terminology. “Example" cutting without guards means clipper over comb technique
Fade
An extreme type of tapper cut where the hair on the sides and back are cut close to the head then tapered upward
What are fade variations
temple fade, low-fade, mid-fade, high fade, and shave fade
What is a layered cut
layering refers to cutting the hair at different lengths throughout the hair. Layers are blended.
Step 1 for a clipper fade hair cut by section
start at the nape area: cut on the vertical panels in clipper free hand area
Step 2 for a clipper fade hair cut by section
Temple area: Below rounds of the head “Above Arch” cut on the vertical panels clipper over comb area
Step 3 for a clipper fade hair cut by section
Connect: Above Rounds Area to the top of the hair. Use clipper over comb technique, angle comb
