Frequency
The number of waves that pass a point in a given period of time, usually measured in Hertz (Hz).
Wavelength
The distance between successive peaks of a wave, commonly measured in nanometers (nm) in the context of light.
Photon
A particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation.
Quantum Energy
The energy carried by a single photon, calculated using the frequency or wavelength of the light.
Ionization Energy
The energy required to remove an electron from an atom or ion in its gaseous state.
Electron Configuration
A notation that shows the distribution of electrons among the various orbitals in an atom.
Rydberg Equation
An equation used to predict the wavelengths of light emitted by electrons transitioning between energy levels in a hydrogen atom.
Electronegativity
A measure of the tendency of an atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons.
Atomic Radius
The distance from the nucleus of an atom to the outer boundary of its surrounding cloud of electrons.
Valence Electrons
Electrons in the outermost shell of an atom that are involved in forming bonds.
