Affirmative tú commands
Used to give orders or advice to someone addressed with the familiar tú.
Negative tú commands
Formed by dropping the final -o of the yo form of the present tense; for -ar verbs add -es, for -er and -ir verbs add -as.
Irregular affirmative tú commands
Commands that do not follow the regular pattern, such as decir (di), hacer (haz), salir (sal), ser (sé), ir (ve), tener (ten), poner (pon), venir (ven).
Reflexive and object pronouns in commands
In affirmative commands, they are attached to the end of the verb; in negative commands, they precede the verb.
Spelling changes in negative tú commands
Verbs ending in -car, -gar, and -zar have spelling changes in negative tú commands.
Example of a negative tú command
No prendas la computadora todavía. (Don't turn on the computer yet.)
Irregular negative tú commands
Commands that do not follow the regular pattern in negative form, like no des, no estés, no vayas, no sepas, no seas.
Maintain original stress
When a pronoun is attached to an affirmative command with two or more syllables, an accent mark is added to maintain the original stress.
