experiential avoidance
running away from/refusing to experience the internal problems. difficult experiences, thoughts, feelings, physical sensations.
this can lead to rumination, and narrow focus on the issue
emotional dysregulation
emotions handled imporoperly like thyre suppressed, leads to problems differentirating between emotions
Cognitive Behavioural therapy
focuses on changing our thought patterns/processes to change our behaviour
Mindfulness
helps you accept your feelings, thoughts, letting them come and go. stop trying to control it, or judge yourself, accept it and focus on what you can control
Dialetic Behavioural therapy
specifically for emotional dysregulation and impulsive acitons/behaviours
managing impulsive suicide, self harm, bpd
ACT Acceptance Commitement Therapy
mindfullness, accept what youre feeling, no judging yourself, and act in ways that can achieve your goals instead
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy
focuses on past trauama, the cause origin of it, attachment style, how they might change
Self-perpetuating interpersonal cycle
your expectations lead you to act in a certain way which casue certain reactions, which lead you to have thoughts, and this powers your expectations again and so on
think more positive positive things will happen, the inverse is also true (negativity)
