drive reduction theory
A psychological theory suggesting that physiological needs create an aroused state (drive) that motivates an organism to satisfy the need and reduce the drive.

Extrinsic motivation
motivated by avoiding consequences or gaining a reward for completing something.
what are the 3 forms of motives
needs: ex. food, water, sleep
drives: ex. sex drive
incentives: ex. earning more money
James-Lange Theory
external stimuli triggers behavioural responses, leading to emotional experiences. “I feel afraid because I tremble”.
Cannon-Bard Theory
external stimuli cause simultaneous emotional and physiological responses. “the dog makes me tremble and feel afraid”.
