Goggles
Visual: Protective clear glasses with a strap. Purpose: Used to protect the eyes from sharp objects, chemical splashes, flying debris, and heat during laboratory experiments.
Beaker
Visual: A cylindrical glass container with a flat bottom and a small pouring lip. Purpose: Used for holding, mixing, and heating liquids; it provides only approximate volume measurements, not for accurate measurements, has measurements on sides
Erlenmeyer Flask
Visual: A glass container with a flat, wide base and a narrow, vertical neck. Purpose: Designed to allow for the easy swirling of liquids to mix them without the risk of splashing, not good for measuring, for mixing, heating, cooling, filtration and storage
Florence Flask
Visual: A flask featuring a round, bulbous body and a long, thin neck. Purpose: Used for uniform heating, boiling, reaction, storage vessel of liquids; also known as a boiling flask.
Graduated Cylinder
Visual: A tall, narrow vessel marked with precise measurement lines. Purpose: Used for the accurate measurement of liquid volumes, milliliters, not for storage
Bunsen Burner
Visual: A vertical metal burner tube connected by a hose to a gas source. Purpose: volatile gas and flame used for heating, sterilization, and combustion.
Striker
Used with Bunsen burner to give spark for flame
Hot Plate
Visual: A portable electric plate with a flat heating surface and control knobs. Purpose: Acts as a flameless heat source for warming substances in glassware instead of Bunsen burner or when you have no access to volatile gas, need electric source for this
Triple Beam Balance
Visual: A mechanical scale with a pan and three horizontal beams containing sliding weights. Purpose: Used to determine the mass of an object in grams (g).
Mass
Amount of matter in an object, not the same as weight
Funnel
Visual: A cone-shaped tool with a narrow neck or pipe at the bottom. Purpose: Used to pour liquids or fine-grained substances into containers with small openings or to assist in filtration.
Ruler
Visual: A flat strip marked with units of length. Purpose: Used to measure the length of objects in centimeters (cm) or millimeters (mm).
Thermometer
Visual: A thin glass tube containing a temperature-sensitive liquid and a scale. Purpose: An instrument used to measure the temperature of a substance, typically in degrees Celsius (^\circ C), the sped at which the particles move, the hotter the faster
Test Tube
Visual: A thin glass cylinder with an open top and a rounded, closed bottom. Purpose: Used to hold, mix, or heat small quantities of chemical reagents, used to run test, should be put in holder
Tongs
Visual: Scissor-like metal tools with specific gripping ends. Purpose: Used to safely handle, grip, and lift hot lab equipment, such as beakers or crucibles.
Pipette
Visual: A slender glass or plastic tube, often with volume markings. Purpose: Used for the precise transfer of small, measured volumes of liquid from one container to another. Very accurate for measuring.
Pipette Bulb
Visual: A small, squeezable rubber bulb. Purpose: Attached to a pipette to provide the suction necessary to draw liquid into the tube.
Spring Scale
Visual: A device containing a spring, a hook, and a measurement scale. Purpose: Used to measure the force or weight of an object in Newtons (N) or pounds
