Soil Degradation
refers to the loss of fertility of the soil often due to a chemical change. Largely a result of human activity compacting the soil.
Land Degradation
Is the loss of productivity and decline in the fertility of land based environments as a result of human activities.
Soil Erosion
Where soil is gradually warn away by natural phenomena such as wind, rain and water. Can also be caused by human activity such as deforestation.
Ecosystem decline
The deterioration of an ecosystems structure, function and biodiversity.
Desertification
The permanent degradation of land that was once productive and able to support life.
Environmental Change
A change or a disturbance to the environment, and it can be caused by both natural processes and human activities.
