Dans mon quartier il y a un parc en face de la piscine

In my neighbourhood there is a park opposite the swimming pool

Il est difficile de garer la voiture dans notre rue

It’s hard to park the car in our road

Mon école est à deux pas de chez moi

My school is really near my home

On peut prendre le bus ou le tram pour aller en ville

You can take the bus or tram to get into town

Hier soir je suis sorti(e) promener le chien

Last night I went out to walk the dog

S’il fait beau demain, j’irai au parc

If it’s nice tomorrow I’ll go to the park

Je vis dans le sud/nord de l’Angleterre en pleine campagne

I live in the south/north of England in the middle of the countryside

On dit que notre région est très touristique

They say that our region is very touristy

Les touristes adorent venir ici malgré une météo variable

Tourists love coming here despite the variable weather

Les possibilités touristiques sont nombreuses

Tourists can do all sorts of things

Cequi me plaît le plus c’est les beaux paysages

What I like most is the beautiful scenery

Si j’avais le choix, j’irais vivre en Ecosse

If I had the choice I would go and live in Scotland

J’ai toujours adoré voyager

I’ve always loved to travel

Je préfère le train parce que c’est plus confortable que le bus

I prefer the train because it’s more comfortable than the bus

On apprend beaucoup de choses en voyageant

You learn a lot by travelling

L’avion est rapide, mais très polluant, il faut le dire

The plane is fast but polluting, you have to say

Après avoir pris un taxi à la gare, nous sommes partis à cinq heures

After taking a taxi to the station we left at 5.00

Si je gagnais à la loterie, j’irais en Australie

If I won the lottery I would go to Australia

Quand j’étais petit(e) j’avais toujours le mal de mer

When I was small I was always seasick

Nous réservons à l’avance pour économiser de l’argent

We book in advance in order to save money

Le weekend dernier j’ai décidé de prendre le train au lieu du car

Last weekend I decided to take the train instead of the coach

L’année dernière je suis allé(e) en France en voiture

Last year I went to France by car

Le weekend prochain je vais aller à Manchester en train

Next weekend I am going to go to Manchester by train

Nous venons de rentrer d’Espagne en avion

We’ve just got back from Spain by plane

J’habite une toute petite maison près du centre-ville

I live in a tiny house near the town centre

In my house there are ten rooms in total

C’est mon papa qui a décoré ma chambre

It’s my dad who decorated my room

Ma maison idéale serait un château dans le midi de la France

My ideal house would be a castle in the south of France

I’d like to live in a modern house by the seaside

Malgré son histoire, il y a tant de choses à faire pour les jeunes

Despite its history there are so many things to do for young people
