• Made in Week 1.

• Makes a Graafian follicle grow in the ovary.

• Makes an ovum mature inside the follicle.

• Makes the follicle produce oestrogen.

Oestrogen

• Made by the Graafian follicle.

• Made in Week 2.

• Thicken the uterus lining

• Increases blood supply after menstruation.

• Stops FHS production.

• Causes the Pituary Gland to release LH.

Luteinising Hormone

• Made by the Pituary Gland.

• Made in the middle of the cycle.

• A sudden increase causes ovulation.

• After ovulation, LH helps form the Corpus Luteum in the ovary.

• The Corpus Luteum then makes progesterone.

Progesterone

• Made by the Corpus Luteum.

• Made in Week 3.

• Keeps the uterine lining thick.

• Prepares the uterus for a possible pregnancy.
