Angular Position
The position of a point on a rotating object compared to a reference line, measured in degrees or radians.
Angular Displacement
The change in angular position, calculated as ∆𝜃 = 𝜃𝑓 − 𝜃𝑖.
Angular Velocity
The rate of change of angular position over time, denoted as ω.
Angular Acceleration
The rate of change of angular velocity over time, calculated as α = (ω𝑓 − ω𝑖)/(𝑡𝑓 − 𝑡𝑖).
Tangential Velocity
The linear speed of a point on a rotating object, given by v𝑡 = ω × r.
Rotational Inertia
A measure of an object's resistance to changes in its rotational motion, depending on mass distribution relative to the axis of rotation.
Net Torque
The total torque acting on an object, which causes changes in its rotational motion.
Uniform Rotation
A type of motion where an object rotates at a constant angular velocity.
Non-Uniform Rotation
A motion where the angular velocity of an object changes over time.
Kinematic Equations for Rotation
Equations that relate angular displacement, angular velocity, and angular acceleration for rotating objects.
Radian
A unit of angular measure where one radian is the angle subtended at the center of a circle by an arc equal in length to the radius.
Tangential Acceleration
The acceleration of a point on a rotating object, which is dependent on the radius and angular acceleration.
