Stereotype
A stereotype is assumed characteristics of something.

Gender Stereotype
A Gender Stereotype is when people expect or think you how you should act due to your gender.

Stereotype Threat
The anxiety and pressure someone feels when they might confirm a negative stereotype about their social group.

Cliche
A phrase or opinion that is overused and niche.

Culture
The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.

Identity
The fact of being who or what a person or thing is.

Ethnocentrism
The belief that one's own ethnic or cultural group is superior, using its own standards.

Cultural Diversity
The existence of various cultures, beliefs, traditions, languages, and customs within a single society or globally.

Bias
A predisposition or preference for or against a person, group, or idea, often based on stereotypes and leading to unfair judgment or treatment.

Prejudice
A preconceived, usually negative attitude, belief, or feeling toward a person or group based solely on their social identity.

Discrimination
The unfair treatment or prejudicial action against individuals or groups based on characteristics like race, gender, age, or religion, denying them rights, opportunities, or privileges available to others.

Privilege
Unearned advantages, benefits, or immunities granted to people based on their membership in a dominant social group.

Cultural Appropriation
The adoption of elements from a minority or marginalized culture by members of a dominant culture.

Representation
The action of speaking or acting on behalf of someone or the state of being so represented.

Gentrification
The process whereby the character of a poor urban area is changed by wealthier people moving in, improving housing, and attracting new businesses, typically displacing current inhabitants in the process.

Microaggression
A statement, action, or incident regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group such as a racial or ethnic minority.

Inclusion
The action or state of including or of being included within a group or structure.

Assimilation
The process of taking in and fully understanding information or ideas.

Traditions
The transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.

Ethnicity
A group's shared cultural identity, defined by common ancestry, language, traditions, religion, or nationality, setting them apart from others.

Social Justice
The principle that everyone deserves equal rights, opportunities, and treatment, focusing on fair distribution.

Customs
The official department that administers and collects the duties levied by a government on imported goods.

Cultural Appreciation
The respectful, informed engagement with another culture, involving genuine learning, understanding, and honoring its significance, traditions, and history, often through participation with permission or by supporting authentic creators, fostering connection rather than commodification or stereotyping.
