Freud's 5 stages of development

Anal Stage (1-3 years)

Focus on bowel and bladder control; the conflict is toilet training.

Latency stage (6-12 years)

A period of socialization and development of skills; sexual feelings are dormant.

Genital stage (12+ years)

Maturation of sexual interests and establishment of mature sexual relationships.

Oral Stage (0-1 year)

Pleasure centers on the mouth, such as sucking and biting.

Phallic Stage (3-6 years)

Pleasure focuses on the genitals; children experience the Oedipus or Electra complex.
