What was the purpose of the raids?

The Fenians hated that Britain was ruling Ireland. Since they couldn't stop the British in Ireland directly, they decided to "get back at Britain" by attacking its colonies.

Thomas was a politician and a poet and who is also one of the fathers of Confederation. He was elected to parliament as an Irishman, who was loved by the Irish community in Ottawa and across Canada

Describe the assasination of McGee.

On April 6, 1816, McGee was assassinated shortly after 1 AM when he was leaving Parliament Hill after late meeting, he was walking to his house and after he turned his key to open the door, he was shot and died.

Why was he killed?

McGee had anger some of the finances who were a secret society of the iron Irish he had ridden in the Montreal Gazette secret societies are like what the farmers in Ireland used to say of scotch grass. The only way to destroy it is to cut it out by the roots and burn it into a powder. The finance thought Mickey was a traitor to the fenians.

No, the Chinese workers were not welcomed. They weren't treated with respect and they were not fully paid for their work.

What was the living conditions of the Chinese workers?

Many workers suffered from malnutrition leading to scurvy and death. They could only afford preserved rice and fish. The workers were paid much less compared to the English one and we're given the harshest jobs. Compared to the English who got better housing inside of rail cars, they had to build their own shacks tents and many died from the severe weather.
