Heresy

Religious ideas that oppose accepted church teachings

Holy Land

Jerusalem and parts of the surrounding area where Jesus lived, preached, and taught.

Magna Carta

This document listed the rights that the king could not ignore. King John was forced to sign this in 1215 (influenced our US Constitution)

Parliament

The lawmaking body of the British government (like our congress).

Eurasia

the land mass formed by the continents of Europe and Asia

Feudalism

a system of organization during the Middle Ages (vassals serve lords in exchange for protection)

Black Death

A deadly plague that swept through Europe between 1347 and 1351; (AKA the bubonic plague.)

a large estate owned by a knight or lord
