Define egocentrism
Child’s tendency to only be able to see world from only their point of view

To create a test that would make more sense than Piaget’s in order to investigate egocentrism

3 ½ to 5 year olds presented with a model of 4 sections.
Told to hide boy doll from policeman so that they can’t see it
Given practice first with one doll
Increased sections each time
What were the results
90% could successfully hide the boy doll from the 2 policeman
Younger children did less well as task became more complex
What Conclusion can be draw
Children aged between 3 ½ to 5 years are able to décentré if the situation makes sense to them
