Prenatal period

Ovum
0–14 days of gestation; early fertilization stage.
Embryo
14 days to 8 weeks gestation; organ formation occurs.
Fetus
9 weeks gestation to birth; later development and growth.
Perinatal
Period from 22 weeks of gestation to 7 days after birth.
Postnatal
Period after birth, including newborn, infancy, and later childhood stages.
Newborn stages
Early newborn (0–7 days) and late newborn (8–28 days) phases.
Growth phases (developmental milestones)
