Tell me a little bit about yourself.

My name is Phoenix, I am 16 years old and I am currently finishing my year 10 exams at Dandenong High School. I enjoy learning new things, solving problems, and being challenged because I am able to test my skills and improve or build upon them. I really enjoy and am quite competent with math, physics and coding which all help to develop my digital literacy skills. I am also a very organized person, I always make sure my work is well-presented, comprehensible, and neat, especially in group projects - where I do my best to divide up the work fairly to complete it efficiently and as a team. I would say that I am a reliable person as the level of effort I put into my work is very consistent and I get things done efficiently to complete goals and meet deadlines.

What are your qualities?

I am a dedicated and determined person, once I set a goal I will do my absolute best to achieve and complete it by using 100% of my effort. I would also say that I am a fast learner, calm under pressure, and very organized.

What do you value?

I very much value equality and making sure everyone is treated fairly and that everyone deserves to receive the same opportunities. This aligns with Meals For Smiles’ values as they are helping children in foster homes eat the same food and have the same essentials as everyone else which prevents them from being less fortunate and gives them the fair chance they deserve which is something I really admire about this company.

What are your strengths?

My best strengths are probably my digital literacy, my desire to learn, and my communication skills.

What are your weaknesses.

Age and lack of experience, though I don’t have previous work experience, I am a fast learner and eager to try new things and have an impact in people's lives.

How would your friends describe you?

I asked one of my close friends in preparation for a question like this and they said that they would describe me as smart, good with tech, responsible, honest and kind.

How did you hear about this job?

I received an email from a student at my school who said they had a great experience working with you and that they would recommend applying. So I had a look at the website and read about what you guys do then decided that this role would suit my workstyle and would be a great first job as I will get unique experience and I will be able to learn a lot.

Can you give me an example of a time when you were calm under pressure?

In all my exams I try very hard to do my best under a strict time limit which puts lots of pressure on me but I am always calm and focused.

Why did you apply for this job?

I want to work here mainly because of the great feedback I have heard about this company, also that I know my work and contribution to this company will have a positive impact in so many people's lives which I really value.

And because this job is remote and requires good digital literacy skills, it suits my desired workstyle and I believe that I would do well at it.
