Age Distribution

The proportion of individuals of different ages within a population, typically displayed as a population pyramid

Dependency Ratio

The ratio of non-working-age population (under 15 and over 65) to the working-age population (15-64)

Child Mortality Rate

The number of deaths of children under five per 1,000 live births in a given year

Doubling Time

The time it takes for a population to double in size at a constant growth rate, calculated using the rule of 70 (70 divided by the annual growth rate)

Crude Birth Rate (CBR)

The number of live births per 1,000 people in a population per year

Crude Death Rate (CDR)

The average number of years a newborn is expected to live under current mortality conditions

Natural Increase Rate (NIR)

The percentage by which a population grows in a year, calculated by subtracting the Crude Death Rate from the Crude Birth Rate

Total Fertility Rate (TFR)

The average number of children a woman is expected to have during her lifetime, based on current birth rates
