What is the "Associate" membership option available to Brothers?

• Status: Limited membership and participation (due to other academic, employment, or local internship commitments)

• Dues: $50 each semester

• Responsibilities: Half of service points required for Actives at final checkpoint

• Privileges Limited: Cannot vote, serve as Big, hold office (except for Bylaws)

What is the "Leave-of-Absence" membership option available to Brothers?

• Status: Formal absence of membership and participation for one semester (due to non-local internship, co-op, not enrolled in classes, etc.)

• Dues: None

• Responsibilities: None

• Privileges Limited: Cannot vote, serve as Big, hold office

What is the "Inactive" membership option available to Brothers?

• Status: Formal or informal absence of membership for an indefinite time

• Dues: None

• Responsibilities: None

• Privileges Limited: Cannot vote, serve as Big, hold office, restricted event attendance

When is the deadline to declare your membership status and how do you do so?

• 2nd business meeting of the semester

• Declared by filling out the Membership Survey sent out by the 2nd VP each semester

Explain the Gamma Lambda Chapter's expectations for payment of Brothers' dues.

• Dues must be paid in full by the 3rd business meeting of each semester

• If you can't play your full dues by the deadline, you can set up a payment plan with the Treasurer by the 3rd business meeting of the semester

Define "quorum" at business meetings, and what is Gamma Lambda's quorum?

• Quorum is the minimum number of Active Brothers that must be at a business meeting in order for votes to take place

• Quorum = 60% Active Brothers - number of permanent business meeting excuses

Explain the process of Brother Reactivation.

• If an Active Brother fails to meet a membership requirement, they become inactive.

• If an Inactive Brother is to return to Active status after the membership deadline has passed, they will attend an Exec meeting, explain their reasoning for failing to stay Active, and the Exec will vote on reactivation

• A Brother may be reactivated once per semester

• Induction begins the pledging process

Explain your Gamma Lambda NIB status following Initiation.

• NIB stands for Newly Initiated Brother

• You will be a NIB from the Initiation ceremony until the end of your first complete semester as an Active Brother

• The limitations of being a NIB are that you cannot serve as Big Brother and cannot run in an election in the same semester you pledged

Explain our Chapter's Virtual Lounge.

• The Virtual Lounge is a Facebook Group for important Gamma Lambda announcements, and *occasional* PG-rated memes

• The Virtual Lounge consists of almost 500 active Brothers, alumni, & advisors of our chapter

• You can join the Virtual Lounge by friending the current 2nd VP and/or Pledgemaster on Facebook and accept their invitation to join the Group, which is sent after you are Initiated (make sure your notifications are turned on)
