Value-Added Analysis
A process analysis technique that identifies activities that add value to the customer and classifies them accordingly.
Non-Value-Adding Activities (NVA)
Activities that do not add value to the customer and customers would be unwilling to pay for.
Business Value-Adding Activities (BVA)
Activities necessary for the business operation that do not directly produce value for the customer but are essential to maintain the business.
Pareto Chart
A bar chart that helps prioritize issues by showing their impact, sorted in descending order.
Waste Analysis
The process of identifying and eliminating non-value-adding activities to improve efficiency.
Root Cause Analysis
A method used to identify the fundamental cause of issues or problems within a process.
Fishbone Diagram
A visual tool used in root cause analysis to systematically identify and display the possible causes of an issue.
6Ms of Cause Analysis
Machine, Method, Material, Man, Measurement, and Milieu; categories used to analyze the source of issues.
Issue Register
A document used to categorize and track identified issues, including details like impact and possible solutions.
PICK Chart
A prioritization tool that assesses issues based on their payoff and ease of implementation.
