Chemical equations
Show the ratio of reactant and product in a reaction (balanced chemical equations), molar ratio between the reacting chemicals is used to determine mol., volume, concentration, etc.
Mol. in equations
ex: 2Na + 2H2O —> 2NaOH + H2 (g)
If 20g Na reacts with H2O, calculate the mass of NaOH formed.
ex: 2NH3 + 3CuO —> 3Cu + N2 + 3H2O
If 2.66g NH3 reacts with CuO, calculate the mass of Cu formed.
Limiting reactant
Substance which is used up first in a reaction, and therefore determines the theoretical yield.
Theoretical yield
Quantity of the product which may be produced from the complete convergence of the limiting reactant.
