Validity
The degree to which all the accumulated evidence supports the intended interpretation of the test scores for the proposed purpose.
Content-related Validity
An aspect of construct validity referring to the relevance and representativeness of test content and task response processes.
Face Validity
Superficial appearances of relevance.
Patterns of convergence and divergence
An aspect of construct validity dealing with internal consistency of test results, correlations among tests and subtests, and multitrait-multimethod matrix.
Criterion-related Validity
An aspect of construct validity referring to the accuracy of decisions based on concurrent and predictive validation.
Concurrent Validation
Accuracy of decisions based on concurrent validation (i.e., correlations between test scores and existing criteria).
Predictive Validation
Accuracy of decisions or predictions based on predictive validation (i.e., correlations between test scores and predicted criteria).
Regression
Estimation of the relation between variables; based on information provided by one variable, we can predict the outcome.
Criterion validity
How well does the test-score (predictor) predict the criterion?
