What to do when approaching someone with a HEAD OR NECK injury
1) Gloves
2) DO NOT MOVE THE BODY
3) STABLIZE THEIR HEAD
Cup their head with your hands so that your thumbs are facing up and they parallel the PTs ears
4) Have someone call 911
What do you do when you see someone have a SEZIURE
1) Tell someone to call 911
2) Gloves
3) Use something to stop their head from shaking and bumping into things (towel, hoodie, arms)
4) when shaking stops put them in the recovery position
on left side; left arm under head; right leg bent 90 degrees; right arm perpendicular to body
What do you do when you see someone having a PANIC ATTACK
1) Remove the person from the situation and introduce yourself
2) Box Breathing (Breath with person)
3) Keeping them Calm
Sort of a different distraction

4) Call an RA
What do you do when you see someone and they have a NOSE BLEED
1) Sit them down
2) Calm them down a bit (introduce self; ask if it was an impact injury)
3) Put on Gloves
4) Have them pinch the bridge of their nose and lean forward
5) Hand them gauze to plug up the nose bleed
6) set a 3 minute timer
7) have them sit up, take out gauze and blow out
8) If still bleeding do seteps 4-7 again
9) If still bleeding longer than 8 minutes call 911
What do you do once someone has been proven Unconscious via AVPU
1) Put on gloves and have someone call 911
2) Establish their airway using HEAD TILT CHIN LIFFT
3) Check for breathing; place ear over their head facing their feet looking at chest depth and Breaths per minute and feeling their breath
4) Circulation; check for their pulse (Neck)

After 4
5) Find their bleeding by patting down subject
What do you do when applying a TQ
1) Put on gloves and have someone call 911
2) Put it high and tight on limb
3) twist until you cant anymore
4) put windlass into the holder
5) mark time on TQ or person
What do you do when administering an EPI PEN
1) Put on gloves
2) Ask if they are having an allergic reaction and where their EPI pen is
3) Get THEIR EPI pen
4) Pull BLUE Cap off and keep hand off both ends
5) Jam ORANGE END into subjects THIGH and wait 15 seconds
6) Take EPI Pen out and throw in sharps container
7) Call 911
What do you do if you are trying to check for AVPU
1) Put on Gloves
2) Ask them "Hey are you ok" while shaking them (This checks A and V)
3) Tell someone to call 911
4) Check Pulse and Breathing
5) Check P; give them a sternum rub
6) Ensure their airways are clear
