Why did the Articles of Confederation fail?

The Articles of Confederation failed because they created a weak national government with no power to tax, enforce laws, or regulate trade. Each state acted like its own country, which caused disagreements and economic problems. As a result, the government could not solve major issues, leading to the writing of the U.S. Constitution.

National Bank
