What is the cloud?
Someone else’s computer
Azure includes over 1000 services. Some popular cloud computing resources include:
-Windows and Linux servers
-Unlimited file storage
-Databases
-Message queues
-Content delivery network
What is a resource in Azure?
Refers to any manageable item available in Azure's cloud platform, such as virtual machines, storage accounts, and databases.
What is the shared responsibility model?
A framework that defines the distribution of responsibilities between cloud service providers and customers.

When using a cloud provider, the customer is always responsible for what?
The information and data stored in the cloud
Devices that are allowed to connect to your cloud
The accounts and identities of the people, services, and devices within your organization

When using a cloud provider, the cloud provider is always responsible for what?
The physical datacenter
The physical network
The physical hosts

What responsibilities may be owned by either the cloud provider or the customer depending on the type of cloud service? (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
Operating systems
Network controls
Applications
Identity and infrastructure
The three main cloud models are:
public, private, and hybrid.
What is the public cloud?
A cloud computing model where services are offered over the public internet to customers by a third-party provider.
What is the private cloud?
A type of cloud computing environment that’s used exclusively by a single organization instead of sharing infrastructure with other businesses.
What is the hybrid cloud?
A cloud computing model that combines both public and private cloud environments, allowing data and applications to be shared between them.
What is multi cloud?
A cloud computing strategy that involves using services from multiple cloud providers, allowing organizations to choose the best solutions for their specific needs.

Ah cool

When comparing IT infrastructure models, what are the two types of expenses to consider?
Capital expenditure and operational expenditure. (CapEx and OpEx)
What does Capital expenditure refer to?
A one-time, up front expenditure to purchase assets or facilities such as building a datacenter, or buying a company vehicle.
What does Operational expenditure refer to?
The ongoing (if any) cost of products or services. Cloud computing operates on an OpEx since it uses a consumption based model where you only pay for what you use.
What can you use to get a rough idea of what you’ll be paying depending on what cloud services you’ll use?
