Themochromic pigments

These pigments react to a change in heat, for example it is used in baby feeding spoons

Polymorph

A polymer that becomes malleable when heated to above 62 degrees or above, eg. modleing, ergonomic handles

Quantum tunneling composit

An insulation rubber containing tiny particles of metal, when squished the particles meet to make a current. Eg. pressure sensors

Litmus paper

A paper that changes colour based on ph, red=acidic , blue=alkaline, purple=neutral

Photochromic pigments

Pigments that react to a change in UV rays to create a colour change, eg. sunglasses

Shape memory alloys

Alloys that when heat is applied return to their original shape, eg. braces and surgical stents, Nitinol (alloy of nickel and titanium)

Piezoelectric material

Can generate electricity when pressure is applied, eg. light up shoes
