What is Clason about?

• sampling archaeozoological remains

• a case study which uses sieving as an example of sampling

• if sampling to the smallest bit is always important

What is the conclusion of Clason?

• not all animal remains should be sampled during excavation

• samples should depend on the scientific questions that are important at the time of excavation and which can be solved by a study of the faunal remains

why did the egyptians think they were communicating with gods when talking to animals?

they did not understand them and therefore though they were speaking to gods

gods would enter the bodies of animals which shared aspects of themselves
