-younger people are more likely to vote labour

-the south east have always voted conservative (54% c to 23% l in 2019)
-north vote labour more (40% c to 45% l)
-further more people in city's are more lily to vote labour (London 48%)

party leadership
-party leader can have a large effect on who wins a general election
-in 2017/2019 labour never stood a chance as people dislike Jeremy Corbyn to much
-2024- sunak was put across as being incompetent and people view him as being to distant (sky TV) seen as a joke
other factors effecting elections
campaign
-due to people no longer using identity politics the campaign has more influence
- can been seen in 2017 election 19% of voters switched during the election
- narrowed the gap over tory massive win by unpopular policy of dementia tax
-2024 campaign had minimal difference as labour had a big lead at the start and end
-slogan of get conservatives out and being fed up of 14 years
Media's effect on public opinion
-TVs controlled by Ofcom but not newspapers
-80%of newspapers from 2015-2019 backed the Tory's
-decline in newspapers means people are more likely to use online news which is much more left wing then before newspaper sales have halved
