Simple Squamous Epithelium

A single layer of tall, column-like cells that aids in absorption and secretion, often containing microvilli.
Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium
Appears to be stratified but is actually a single layer, often containing cilia, found in the respiratory tract.
Stratified Squamous Epithelium
Multiple layers of cells that protect underlying tissues from abrasion, commonly found in the skin.
Transitional Epithelium
A specialized epithelium that can stretch and is found in the urinary bladder.
