(unfurl mountain SL of set)
B: Lines for a picture of a yellow sun.
(roll poster up and exit USL)
B: Here’s a picture of mom, and she’s singing to me.

(Enter USL, x DSL, stand in corner and angle in toward CS)

We have no rules. We need no rules. Children should be free. Free to explore, free to find their own limits. Our job is to gently remind them of… consequences. Excuse me. (Stand on chair) JESSICA. Put down that crowbar. And why don’t you think about how AARON might be feeling right now… (get down, walk L and crouch-walk around the set to come out the other side as a new kid, sit USR in front of set)
Teacher: today’s assignment is Me Drawings.
What’s that?
2: I’m brown!
I’m pink!
E: I’m green.
Yucko!
B: No, that’s cool.
It is? Oh.
B: and this is my knee where I had a bleed, and…
I don’t see any blood.
B: I get a shot of Factor 8, and the bleed stops, and then I get a sucker.
(ALL) Yeah!
Teacher: Problem? It’s an opportunity. Welcome to our community.
(ALL) Recess!! (Exit SR, bring crayons, enter USR and lay on blocks)
(I enter USR and lay on blocks with B)
So what do you want to do?
4: I don’t know, what do you want to do?
I don’t know.
B: I have an idea. We can go on the yellow boat. C’mon Eddy!
(Sit up when B stands)
B: load cargo, now.
Are we going or what?
Okay, hoist the sails, hoist the anchor. You’re supposed to say “Aye, aye, Captain.”
(ALL) Aye, aye, Captain! (Stand on chair behind tall blocks) Can I steer??
B: nope, only the captain gets to steer. I stand right here and draw, and steer.
I want to be captain! (Harumph foot stomp)
B: Then draw your own boat!
I can’t draw as good as you!
B: I know. You can be helper. She gets to steer if the captain gets tired.
(Sit like Casey and face front, lean on blocks) Does that ever happen?
B: We can fly! Special hydraulic powered flyers.
Land ho!
B: how do you know?
