What is folklore?
Folklore is made-up stories that are passed down from generation to generation.
What are some characteristics of Tall Tales?
Exaggerated, larger-than-life characters; problems solved in funny ways; usually based in America.
What defines a Legend?
Based on a real person; set in a historical time period; teaches a central message or lesson.
What are Myths about?
Stories about gods and goddesses that explain how something in the world came to be and include unusual creatures.
What are the typical elements of Fairy Tales?
Often include royalty like kings or princesses, feature good versus evil, and are usually set in castles or forests.
