there are 11 players on offense and 11 players on defense. The offenses’ goal is to get the ball down the field in order to score a touchdown. the offense has four downs to move the ball 10 yards. The defenses job is to block the offense from advancing down the field and try to get them to make a mistake or make it less than 10 yards in a fourth down, resulting in a turnover.
