Used in psychoanalysis; a person describes all of the thoughts, feelings, and images that come to mind

Uses classical and operant conditioning to help treat mental illnesses

Systematic desensitization

Type of therapy used to help with phobias and anxiety treatment; involves replacing a fear response with relaxation

Rational emotive-behavior therapy (REBT)

Involves a therapist challenging irrational thoughts and beliefs; believes that beliefs control emotions which control behavior
