سَنَة ٢٠١١ كَانِت صَعبَة شِوَيَّة، خُصُوصًا بَعد الثَّورَة.

2011 was kind of rough, especially after the revolution.

أَنا إِتْوَلَّدت فِي التَّمَانِينَات.

I was born in the 80s.

فِي التِّسْعِينات، التِّليفُونَات المَحْمُولَة بَدَأِت تِنْتِشِر وَبَقِيت شَائِعَة.

In the 90s, mobile phones started to spread and became common.

رَمَضَان جِه بَدْرِي السَّنَة دِي، فِي مَارِس.

Ramadan came early this year, in March.

الصَّيْف اللِّي فَات، رَوَّحْت إِسْكَنْدَرِيَّة مَع صَحَابِي وَاتْمَشِّينَا عَلَى الكُورْنِيش.

Last summer, I went to Alexandria with my friends and we walked on the corniche.

الشِّتْوِيَّة دِي كَانِت بَارْدَة أَوِي.

This winter was really cold.

عيد مِيلَادِي فِي دِيسَمْبَر، وَبَحِب الجَوّ سَاعْتَه.

My birthday is in December, and I love the weather then.

مِن كَام سَنَة، حَصَلِت أَزْمَة إِقْتِصَادِيَّة كَبِيرَة.

A few years ago, there was a major economic crisis.

السَّنَة الجَّايَّة، نَاوْيَة أَبْدَأ شُغْل جِدِيد إِن شَاء الله.

Next year, I’m planning to start a new job, in sha’ Allah.

أَوَّل مَرَّة زُرْت القَاهِرَة كَانِت فِي ٢٠١٥، وَقَعَدْت فِيهَا أُسْبُوع.

The first time I visited Cairo was in 2015, and I stayed for a week.

تَعَالِي نِخْرُج يَوم الخَمِيس بَاللِّيل؟

عَندي مِيعَاد مَع الدُّكْتُور السَّاعَة ١٠ الصُّبْح.

I have a doctor’s appointment at 10 in the morning.

الشُّغْل عِندِي مِن الحَدّ لِلخَمِيس، وَبِرِيَّح الجُّمُعَة.

I work from Sunday to Thursday, and I rest on Friday.

الأُسْبُوع الجَّاي، فَاضْيَة يَوم التَّلَات؟

Are you free next week on Tuesday?

أَنا كُلّ جُمُعَة بَرُوح أَشُوف أَهْلِي وَنِتْغَدَّى سَوَاً.

Every Friday I go visit my family and we have lunch together.

مُمْكِن نِتْقَابِل بَعْد الشُّغْل عَلَى السَّاعَة ٣:٣٠؟

Can we meet after work around 3:30?

كُنت مِسَافْرَة الأُسْبُوع اللِّي فَات، وِلِسَّه رَاجْعَة أَمْبَارِح.

I was traveling last week, and I just got back yesterday.

مِشْغُولَة النَّهَارْدَه، بَس فَاضْيَة الأُسْبُوع الجَّاي.

I’m busy today, but I’m free next week.

كُلّ أُسْبُوعِين بَرُوح الكُوَافِير.

I go to the salon every two weeks.

يَوم الإِتْنِين الجَّاي، عَندي كُورْس السَّاعَة ٤ وَهَخَلَّص السَّاعَة ٦.

Next Monday I have a course at 4 and I’ll finish at 6.

بَقَالِي فَتْرَة مَا شُفْتِش صَحَابِي.

It’s been a while since I saw my friends.

كُنت مِسَافْرَة لِمُدَّة أُسْبُوع، وَمِش مَلْحَقَة أَرْتَاح.

I was traveling for a week and I haven’t had a chance to rest.

الوَقْت عَدَّى بِسُرْعَة النَّهَارْدَه.

Time flew by today.

بَحِب آخُد وَقْتِي الصُّبْح قَبْل مَا أَبْدَأ يَومِي.

I like to take my time in the morning before starting my day.

مِش دَايْمًا عَندي وَقْت فَاضِي، خَاصَّةً فِي الشِّتَا.

I don’t always have free time, especially in winter.
