Russia in WWI
Large army, but not powerful because no industrialization in Russia. Country suffered large scale losses, shortages of food and munitions.

They wanted loot, mostly land from Austria
What did France want from the Paris Peace Conference?
They wanted protection for in the future if Germany ever got powerful again
What did the US want from the Paris Peace Conference?
They wanted their debts to be repaid from the war
Was anybody happy with the outcome of the Paris Peace Conference?
None of the countries were happy with the treaty because none of them got exactly what they wanted because they couldn't agree on what the content of the treaties.
What is the Paris Peace Conference?
The Paris Peace Conference was the meeting of the Allied victors, following the end of World War I to set the peace terms for the defeated Central Powers following the armistices of 1918. It took place in Paris during 1919 and involved diplomats from more than 32 countries and nationalities.
How did Germany feel about the Treaty of Versailles?
Germany felt it was too harsh because they were expecting the terms of the League of Nations

1. Countries agreed to try and talk to solve problems in the future instead of starting wars
2. Some countries agreed to reduce the size of their militaries or give up land
3. The countries agreed to try and respect and listen to the other countries better
What is hyperinflation?
A very rapid rise in the price level; and extremely high rate of inflation.
What is self-determination?
The process by which a country determines its own statehood and forms its own allegiances and government.
What is Communism?
A political theory advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs
What is fascism?
A political movement that promotes an extreme form of nationalism, a denial of individual rights, and a dictatorial one-party rule.
What are reparations?
The making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged.
What is internationalism?
Countries that are involved with other countries and played an active role in international affairs
What is a multi-nationalism?
When more than one country or nationality works together
