Growth and maintenance of bones/teeth
Helping wounds heal
Proper functioning of inmune system
Vitamin C degiciency
disease: Scurvy
Symptoms: Poor healing, bleeding under skin, bleeding gums, loosing teeth …
Vitamin D (fat soluble)
Metablic role necessary for:
Helping absortion of calcium from the intestine
Healthy bone and toot formation
Vitamin D - deficiency
Disease: Rickets (children) osteomalacia (adults)
Symptoms: Weak deformed bones which tend to break easily
