Consultative Management Style
Involves management seeking input from employees but making the final decision themselves
Participative Management Style
Involves management sharing information with employees so employees can participate in decision making
Laissez-faire Management Style
Involves management communicating business objectives to employees and giving them the freedom to make decisions independently
Advantages of Autocratic
Decisions can be made fast as there isn’t a need to consult employees
employees are given clear directions
Disadvantages of Autocratic
Smaller pool of ideas, thus management may miss out on better ideas
poor relationship between management and staff due to a one way communication
Advantage of Persuasive
Employees get a better understanding of why decisions are being made, building onto their knowledge
Decisions can be made faster as there isn’t a need to consult employees
Disadvantages of Persuasive
Low morale of employees as due to their input are not heard
smaller pool of ideas thus decisions may not be the most effective
