Bacon's Rebellion (1673)

The result of a minor confrontation between Indians and Colonist on the western frontier of Virginia. The settlers demanded that the governor, William Berkley, remove all Indians from the colony. After he refused, the settlers rebelled and their leader, Nathaniel Bacon, was able to garner support from the poor as well due to his call for tax reduction and an end to rule by rich elites like Berkley. Happened in Piedmont
