Wat is productzorg?
Productzorg is de zorg voor de levering van rationale, werkzame, effectieve, en veilige geneesmiddelen. De taken van de apotheker omvatten de zorg voor zowel de patiënt als voor het product.
Geneesmiddel
Een geneesmiddel bestaat uit:
Actieve stof; farmacon/drug substance/active pharmaceutical ingredient (API)
Hulpstoffen (afhankelijk van de toedieningsvorm)
Verpakking met patiëntinformatie
Juiste product voor de juiste patiënt?
Hangt af van: (1) welke API, (2) welke toedieningsvorm, (3) welk bio-equivalent product. Daarnaast hangt het ook af van: de gebruiker/patiënt, kinetische eigenschappen.
Drug substance vs. drug product
Drug substance is de actieve stof. Drug product is de formulering + de primaire verpakking.
