a push or a pull on one object by another that is touching it.

a force that one object can applys another object without touching it

an attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass

a force that resists the motion of two surface that one touching

Rolling friction

occurs between 2 surfaces in motion and one is a wheel, ball, or roller.

Sliding friction

when one solid surface slides over another

surfaces in contact are at rest

fluid/air friction

relates to objects moving in fluid or air.

Net force

the combination of all the forces acting on an object

Balanced force

forces acting on an object that combine and form a net force of 0

Unbalance force

forces acting on an object that combine and form a net force that is not 0

Newtons first law of Motion

if the net force on an object is 0 the motion of the object does not change

Inertia

the tendency of an object to resist a change in it’s motion
