Cerebrum

The largest part of the brain is responsible for higher mental capabilities; voluntary muscular activity (vision, speech, taste, hearing, thought, and memory)

Cerebellum

coordinates equilibrium and motor activity to produce smooth movements

Thalamus

The brains relay/ sensory control center that send information it to the cerebrum

Central Sulcus

A groove that separates the frontal lobe from the parietal lobe

Medulla oblongata

part of the brainstem that controls breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure

Occipital lobe

processes visual information

Temporal lobe

region responsible for hearing and language

Parietal lobe

region whose functions is to process information about touch

Frontal lobe

Region that controls motor functions and is specialized for abstract thinking, memory, and judgement

White matter

carries impulses up and down the spinal cord

Gray matter

process and relays information

Central canal

to hold cerebrospinal fluid
