Cyanosis
Blue tint; indicates lack of oxygen in the blood
Erythema
Redness; indicates heat, inflammation, or fever.
Albinism
Generally white; genetic lack of melanin production.
Pallor
Paleness; indicates low blood pressure, stress, or anemia
Jaundice
Yellowish; indicates liver damage (bilirubin buildup).
Bronzing
Bronze/Tan metallic color; indicates Addison’s disease.
Hematomas
Black and blue marks; blood clotted under skin (bruising).
Hemoglobin
Red pigment in fair skin; carries oxygen in red blood cells.
Carotene
Orange-yellow pigment found in vegetables (Vitamin A).
